KARACHI: All Pakistan Transport Owners Association (APTOA) announced Sunday that it has raised transport fares by 10 percent across the country.
APTOA chairman Arshad Khan Niazi said the decision has been made in line with the pries of petroleum announced by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
The new fares will be applicable from Sunday, January 02, 2011.
In addition, the APTOA threatened the government to hold nationwide protests if petroleum prices now withdrawn.
Similarly, transport operators in Nowshehra announced around 10 to 20 percent hike in fares, causing problems for commuters.
