ISLAMABAD: Another two percent increase in power tariffs is expected to take effect from December this year, Geo News reported Monday.
According to sources privy to Finance Ministry, the government is bound to inform International Monetary Fund (IMF) regarding the hike in power tariffs by December 12.
The sources further said the IMF tranche is hinged on approval of Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST) from national and provincial assemblies.
Meantime, Finance Secretaries of all four provinces are slated to meet today on the topic here in federal capital.
